The next 2 Sundays (10th / 17th Nov) will see the final events in our Club Champs 2019.  As such, for those not taking part, there will be no training on those Sundays for any squads.

For those taking part, please read the rest of this mail so you can get the most from our Club Champs.

RAFFLE / ENTRY FEES

We will be holding a raffle on both days. This is for fundraising for our club and to help cover the costs of championship medals, trophies and licensing fees. We would be grateful if you are able to bring donations of raffle prizes to the cafe area at the pool in the next 2 weeks or even on the day and hand to either Jeenal Shah, Helen Thomas or any Coach or Committee Member. 

For this part of the club champs, on each Sunday there will be an entrance fee for adult spectators of £2 per adult and a £1 charge for a strip of raffle tickets.  Please try and bring the correct change. There is no charge for spectating children under 16.

 

RESULTS / HEAT SHEETS

To help reduce the amount of paper used during our Club Champs, and avoid the technical heartache of using a printer in a pool hall, we have decided to try out a new way of delivering the results this year.

The results for each event, once we have them, will be published in a pdf file that can be accessed at this link:  https://bit.ly/36wjP9D which is in a shared Google Drive folder and easily accessible via your mobile device.  There is WiFi in the pool hall now.

This is also the link you will find the Heat Sheets for the events so you can see who is swimming in what heat.  You can print copies at home and bring them to the pool or just access via your mobile.  We aim to have these available at the above link no later than the Friday before the Sunday events.

 

SWIMMERS WARM UP / ATTENDANCE

We would like to remind all swimmers to turn up promptly on poolside at 1.45pm to be ready for warm up at 2pm. We will be organising a register on the day by our poolside helpers - swimmers will need to report to them once changed.

ALSO ON THE DAY PLEASE TEXT IF A SWIMMER IS GOING TO BE LATE AS LATE ARRIVALS WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED TO RACE.

 

SWIMMERS CONDUCT

Swimmers should remain on poolside throughout the course of the champs.  It is important that the poolside volunteers know where the swimmers are at all time to ensure the smooth running of the event.  Furthermore, whilst we do have the pool hall and small pool booked the rest of the Leisure Centre is open to the public during the champs and it is important that our swimmers do not hinder the running of the centre.

Parents and guardians must remain on the spectator side of the pool hall at all times and do not venture over to the swimmers’ side at any point during the championships.
