Absolutely fantastic swimming from our #TeamBackwell squad in this year's A final for the Cotswold League 2024.
Some truly inspiring swims and a great team spirit gave us 3rd place overall against very tough opposition.
Official final results double checked after the provisional results announced on the night make it even closer. Just 2 points separated 1st from third: Bath Dolphins 284 / Southwold 283 / Backwell 282. It couldn’t have been closer! Well done everyone!
In fact, after some wizardry of excel spreadsheet... had we been able to have a 17 lane pool to accommodate all the teams in the Cotswold League to swim against each other on the night then, from the times swum on the night in all finals (A, B and C) the results would have put Backwell in 1st place with Bath Dolphins 2nd and Southwold 3rd.
There were 15 huge PB’s for the team on the night and a club record for Nonso A in the 10yr 25m free of 14.78 (taking almost a second from Eddie R set in 2015!)
Thanks to all our coaches, volunteers and supporters who made it one to remember.
